“Rivers of Light” Set to Debut Memorial Day

Disney’s Animal Kingdom “Rivers of Light” is set to debut Memorial Day weekend.  We’ve followed the artists renderings and creation of the new nighttime show and it’s finally here!  Discovery River is the perfect natural host for the breathtaking “Rivers of Light” beginning the end of May.

Rivers of Light, <a href=viagra buy Disney’s Animal Kingdom” width=”1024″ height=”563″ />I love how this musical experience will celebrate the magic of animals, humans and the natural world.   It blends performers, floating lanterns and theatrical animal imagery in dramatic new ways. The Disney creative team collaborated with the award-winning filmmakers at Disneynature to bring never-before-seen footage, telling compelling stories from the animal world to the show.

The ceremony begins with the arrival of a pair of mystical hosts, two complementary forces who come to the river bearing gifts of light. They set out from the shore on elaborate lantern vessels, engaging in a dramatic dance of water and light to summon the animal spirits. With these storytellers as guides, the wonders of “Rivers of Light” unfold into a magnificent finale.  Animal images soar to the heavens– signifying the ancient belief that when animals passed from one world to another they danced in the sky and became beautiful rivers of light.

I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited to see this show in person.  In the meantime, we get a glimpse below of part of the show.  Enjoy!

F. G. Mama

About the author…F. G. Mama, Katie McDill, has been in love with Walt Disney World since first entering the gates in 1976. After her two kids went off to college, she moved from Georgia to the backdoor of the Magic Kingdom in Florida. She worked several years at Walt Disney World performing as Fairy Godmother in day parades, the “Best of Disney” castle stage show, and the original Electric Light Parade. For the last ten years, she along with daughter and family, have enjoyed “living the dream” in Celebration (the town that Disney built) just across the bridge from Disney World. During this time she has collaborated with son-in-law Jimmy in several production projects including Orlando Attractions Magazine-The Show, The Mindy Mouse Show and FunaticsTV. Her other career included being a writer, artist/designer, special events creator and coordinator. Now she is enjoying the good life of Anna Maria Island, Celebration, Disney World and, of course, sharing magic at FUNaticsTV!
